Drizzle SPFX S

from $6.00

S Grog is like sand. It is very fine, and adds smaller specks to the clay. It can easily be smoothed and refined. Can be used in handbuilding and wheel throwing.

Drizzle is our first special effect grog! It is made to run and bleed into, or through, your glaze! Drizzle SPFX is punchy enough to bring cobalt blue spots through most glazes, even opaque, stiff white glazes. Transparent glazes with high fluidity will help promote the “pulling” of the color in a downward direction, but flat surface that do not have gravity working in their favor may stay as blue speckles, rather than blue runs.

Smooth, white clays like porcelain or B-Mix clay bodies work best for this product, but light colored stoneware clays will produce similar effects. Buff stonewares and red clays will still produce the cobalt blue speckling, but have a much harder time creating the movement in a glaze. See our FAQ page for glaze recommendations!

Drizzle SPFX grog may fume onto your kiln shelves if direct contact is made, so we recommend firing pieces with direct shelf contact on kiln washed shelves or on kiln cookies.
